Not usually can you say you get briefed on a project over birthday cake. But such was the case when my girlfriend's cousin Mark asked me to come up with an image for his agriculture insurance agency. I played with visual symbolism and various styles of design in order to try to find the right voice for the business.
The client chose to go with an approach that employs an inked illustration of a corn stalk making the shape of a letter P. With the mark set, all that was left to solve at this point was to provide typographic and color palette specifications. These were chosen to instill an antiquated country feel into the visual attitude of the identity.
